Reverend Dr. James A. Webster, a native of Madison, North Carolina—Rockingham County has served honorably as Pastor of the Oak Ridge First Baptist Church for more than 20 years. Along with this honor, are many more accomplishments—both spiritual and professional.

Dr. Webster has an Associate Degree in Business Management; Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion and Philosophy from Shaw University Divinity School; Master of Divinity Degree, Doctorate of Theology Degree and Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Bethlehem Bible College in Roanoke, VA.  Dr. Webster is also a certified Continuing Christian Education Instructor through Shaw Divinity School. He is also listed in the National Register in Washington, DC’s 2000 Edition of “Who’s Who Among Honored Professionals and Executives”. 

Dr. Webster serves on numerous community boards and committees.  He presently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Bethlehem Bible College.  He is a General Board member of the General Baptist State Convention.  He is also a member of the following: the Hampton Ministers Conference, the Lott Carey Foreign Mission Convention, the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc, the Oak Ridge Ministerial Alliance and the NAACP.  Dr. Webster served as past Moderator of the High Point Educational and Missionary Baptist Association, Inc., and presently serves on the Ordination Council.

In 1975, Dr. Webster was called into the gospel ministry and was licensed to preach. The following year, he was ordained by the Rowan Baptist Association. He served for six years as Pastor of Zion Baptist Church in Mt. Airy, NC. In 1984, he was called to pastor the Oak Ridge First Baptist Church, where he now faithfully and tirelessly labors.  Dr. Webster is an awesome and anointed visionary!

Dr. Webster is married to Mrs. Brenda (Dalton) Webster and has one son, Derrick.
